WeddingWire.com Bride's Choice Award

Ok, so check this out. This morning, I received notice that I've been awarded a WeddingWire.com Bride's Choice award! It's assessed by brides, based upon my demonstration of excellent quality of service, responsiveness, professionalism, value of cost and flexibility. How cool is that?

It's gratifying to have my work and quality of service recognized, especially since creating sumptuous, enchanting wedding cakes of the highest quality means so much to me. There's nothing like delighting a customer with a job well done. I love the fact that word is getting around regarding how I'm different from other cake vendors.

To illustrate my point....

Today, I brought samples (in the form of Babycakes - chocolate cake iced in real blackberry buttercream) to a large group of makeup artists. The feedback I heard was consistent with what I usually hear, which is that they had never tasted anything like my buttercream, and my flavors! They also say the cake is so fresh, it's like it just came out of the oven. And as always, they ask how on earth do I do it? I explain that my buttercream is genuine, not made from vegetable shortening. Moreover, my cakes are butter cakes made fresh to order (from scratch), not cakes made with vegetable oil (and a commercial cake mix), pre-made way ahead of time and stored to be ready at a moment's notice.

Time and again, I hear exactly the same reactions...it reaffirms for me that I've tapped into something that isn't readily available here on Long Island...something different, and something truly fabulous. And it reaffirms that people are ready to enjoy true foodie's cakes - Marneycakes!
